LUXURY INGLENOOK COTTAGE
Luxury three bedroom C18th holiday cottage, sleeps five, at Town Tenement Farm
Inglenook cottage from the courtyard |
The luxury Inglenook Cottage is the second largest of our
holiday cottages (after the Farmhouse) with a spacious living room, separate
well equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble
dryer) and three upstairs bedrooms that can very comfortably accommodate up
to five people
Inglenook Cottage was built around 1700AD, extended to the rear during the following century and the living room ceiling was lifted around 1850. The living room still retains its original stone inglenook fireplace with a bread oven and salt cupboard and the double bedroom has a Georgian fireplace, installed when the ceiling was lifted |

| Inglenook Cottage faces south and has a large living room with a
special timeless charm that comes with age. The cottage was completely renovated in 2010
with a new kitchen, bathroom and third bedroom. The windows were double glazed and the
roof and external walls insulated. The furnishings and
decorations are all in a traditional style and where possible old features
have been retained. Some of the
electric light switches for example are the round Bakerlite type from
the 1950's
There is a fully enclosed private garden to the rear with some built in stone seating and a garden area to the front with a picnic table. There is plenty of parking on site and near to the cottage beside the wood store |

Double bedroom with Georgian fireplace |
Inglenook Cottage has a well equipped kitchen with everything you need
(electric oven, hob, hood, fridge with large freezer compartment, toaster, kettle, crockery and
cutlery, etc.) and many extras such as microwave, coffee maker,
dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The main rooms have electric night storage
heaters and there is an instant electric heater in the bathroom. The hot
water tank has two immersion heaters so that it can be heated using off-peak electricity at night and topped up
during the day if necessary
The living room overlooks the front garden and has a multi fuel stove in the inglenook fireplace, digital Freeview TV, a DVD/CD/VCR player, and plenty of seating with a sofa, two armchairs and a dining table with chairs |

| The two larger bedrooms face south overlooking the peaceful courtyard. One of them is a double and has a built in wardrobe, a chest of drawers, bedside tables, lamps and a Georgian fireplace (not functioning). The second has a ziplink bed that can be arranged either as a king size bed or two singles. This bedroom also has a large chest of drawers and bedside tables and lamps. The third bedroom, a single, has a dressing table, drawer space under the bed and a bedside table and lamp. The beds are all made for your arrival with duvets, pillows and fresh linen (blankets are provided - please let us know how you want the ziplink bed) | ||||
| The bathroom has a bath and separate 8.5kW electric shower and shower
cubicle, WC, heated
towel rail and hand basin. Inglenook Cottage is supplied with cleaning
materials and equipment and a complimentary Welcome Pack with some
essentials - a few hot drinks, tea towels, dishcloths and a toilet roll
Also in the cottage is a comprehensive information book about Inglenook Cottage and the surrounding area. We are happy to help you plan your day and arrange activities such as horse riding, guided tours, fishing, taxi service, dog kennelling, etc. For large groups, the connecting door to Farmhouse can be opened and both cottages together will accommodate up to eleven people |
