The self catering holiday cottages at Town Tenement Farm are an excellent base from which to enjoy the game fishing in North Devon. There is fly fishing
for trout nearby at Wistlandpound
reservoir, with a delightful walk around its 41 acres, and at Blakewell Fisheries
in Muddiford. The family can hire 'rods' here and catch their own rainbow
trout (success guaranteed!)
You can also fly fish in many local rivers including the Taw, Mole, Bray, Barle and Lyn and guided tours and tuition are available. There is coarse fishing at several lakes in the area, for example Little Comfort Farm near Braunton and Riverton Lakes near Swimbridge and sea fishing all along the north coast, with boat charter and fishing trips available from Ilfracombe harbour |

| Rod licences are available from the local Post Office in Challacombe, as are permits for Wistlandpound reservoir. Other local permits are available from the gun shop in Dulverton (telephone 01398 323409), Variety Sports in Ilfracombe (01271 862039) and Lynton Tourist Information Centre (01598 752225). There are plenty of other activities in North Devon for the rest of the family and after a long day beside the water, where better to relax than in the peaceful gardens at Town Tenement Farm, or beside the log fire in your comfortable cottage, whilst just a short walk away the traditional pub serves award winning home made food and real ales |
